Process Plant Emissions - Illustrative Example

Group > Acoustics > Acoustic Info > Process Plant Emissions

The diagram shows the noise levels generated by various sources within a process plant. The sound pressure levels are substantially different at one (1) metre [79 to 93 dB(A)]. Despite this, due to the various sizes and quantities of each source their relative sound power levels are the same [40 dB(A)]. Therefore if a reduction in noise level for the plant was to be achieved, all the sources must be considered for noise control.
